Sorensen Moving & Storage, an agent for Mayflower, was proud to support this year’s Dinner on the Mayflower with the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando. This annual Giving Tuesday tradition brings hope, connection, and nourishment to individuals and families in need throughout the Orlando area.
Sorensen provided a Mayflower trailer, serving as a ‘Mayflower backdrop’ and helping organizers store and manage event supplies efficiently as they prepared to serve the community.
Making an Impact: Over 900 Meals Served
Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of the Citrus Club team, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, this year’s Dinner on the Mayflower successfully served more than 900 meals to those in need. We were humbled to play a part in this impactful day of service.
A Heartfelt Thank-You
We also received a thoughtful note from the event coordinator expressing gratitude for our support and partnership. We’re honored to join organizations across Orlando who share our commitment to giving back and creating positive change.
Our Commitment to Community
At Sorensen Moving & Storage, we believe in lifting the communities where we live and work. Supporting local initiatives like Dinner on the Mayflower reflects our ongoing mission to make a meaningful difference—one act of service at a time.
A Message From the City of Orlando
This year, we were especially honored to receive a message of appreciation from Lisa Portelli, Senior Advisor to Mayor for Homelessness and Social Services, speaking on behalf of Mayor Buddy Dyer and the City of Orlando. You can learn more about the city’s homelessness and social service initiatives at orlando.gov.
Here is her message in full:
“On behalf of Mayor Dyer and all of our residents without homes, thank you for your kindness and generosity. Meals like this bring our residents into our centers and shelters for services and help them move toward self-sufficiency. You have done more than provide a warm delicious meal. We are grateful to be in a community with people like all of you who give so selflessly.“
Ms. Portelli’s words underscore the profound impact this event has on Orlando’s most vulnerable residents and reinforce why this tradition matters so deeply.
